Northeast Georgia Health System’s 557-bed, Level II Trauma Center is growing and would love for you to join our team.  If your goal is to provide a quality-based, patient-centered experience for your neuro patients, become part of one of our two new neuro units at Northeast Georgia Medical Center - Gainesville.

Neuro ICU
  • 1:2 nurse to patient ratio
  • Manage ischemic stroke including those patients undergoing thrombectomy
  • Manage hemorrhagic stroke including intracranial hemorrhage and subarachnoid hemorrhage patients, s/p coil embolization
  • Manage cerebral edema and increased intracranial pressure
  • Monitor abnormal electrical activity of the brain for patients with intractable seizures
  • Manage patients with other neurological disorders such as Guillain-Barre’ Syndrome, Myasthenia Gravis, and ALS
  • Manage patients with hemodynamic instability and/or airway and respiratory compromise
Neuro IMCU
  • 1:3 nurse to patient ratio
  • Manage high acuity ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke patients
  • Manage patients receiving alteplase
  • Monitor abnormal electrical activity of the brain
  • Manage patients with other neurological disorders such as Guillain-Barre’ Syndrome, Myasthenia Gravis, and ALS
  • Manage patients with hemodynamic instability needing antiarrhythmic and/or vasopressor medications
