Trauma Intermediate Care Unit

Our NEW Trauma Intermediate Care Unit is integral to the quality of care that is delivered to our patients. Our dedicated team is known for strong collaboration in the interdisciplinary management of our patients. We are fortunate to work with state-of-the-art clinical technology that promotes an efficient work environment and allows our caregivers more time to focus on providing safe, high-quality patient-centered care.

As an American College of Surgeons verified Level II Trauma Center, we see approximately 2,000 Trauma Registry patients annually, making us one of the busiest Level II centers in the state of Georgia.  Our trauma and acute care Surgery physicians are double boarded in general surgery and surgical critical care, and we are a teaching facility with general surgery and internal medicine residents.

Stroke Intermediate Care Unit

NGHS is a designated Primary Stroke Care Center and our NEW Stroke Intermediate Care Unit was awarded the Get with the Guidelines Stroke Gold Plus with Honor Roll Elite Plus Achievement.
